Michael Burgun


The Chief Technologist role is instrumental in supporting Preview’s approach to utilising best of breed solutions for effective modernisation and transformation. In this role, Michael supports Previews ideal of giving clients a clear path to their IT future. Possessing a balance of technical, business and organisational skills, Michael can drive a project from inception to implementation. 

Michael is focused on modern enterprise applications with large project capabilities. He has an insurance specialisation and has architected solutions that have become key enterprise systems. Michael is articulate, diplomatic and personable. He can convey complex technical solutions to business stakeholders with differing levels of technical knowledge. He is a trend spotter and proponent of best practice techniques. 

Working directly with clients advising the most appropriate technology direction and taking responsibility for road mapping the company’s technological future, Michael considers everything, from product-set definition to skill-set development and customer alignment enhancing Previews goal to remain ahead of the game and effectively embrace emerging technology without adding to system legacy. 

Michael is interested in promoting best practice in the enterprise, especially with the application of modern design and development principles in the enterprise environment. He is passionate about the strategic application of technology and identifying opportunities where technology can improve business processes. 

When Michael can break himself away from technical articles he is very much focused on family, friends and enjoying life and a laugh over a good meal and bottle of wine. He dabbles with being a gentleman farmer on ten acres of farmland in sub-tropical Coffs Harbour.
